We just returned from three life-changing days at Louisiana State Penitentiary, and what we witnessed was nothing short of a revival behind bars.
Day 1 began in silence and sacred stillness. We visited the hospice unit, which is one of the most isolated parts of the prison. These are the men the world often forgets, but God never does. We worshiped with them, prayed for them, and reminded them that hope is still alive, even in their final days.
That night, in Camp D, one of Angola’s toughest units, 50 inmates surrendered their lives to Jesus during a powerful prison chapel service. One man asked to be baptized on the spot. We didn’t hesitate.
Day 2, the hunger for more of God only grew. We held another chapel service and issued a challenge: come back tomorrow expecting transformation. Not just another event... a move of God.
Day 3 marked history.
Thousands of inmates from six prisons, including a women’s facility, filled the Angola Rodeo Arena for the largest worship event in Louisiana prison history. With Elevation Worship, Davide Mutendji, Lizzie Morgan, and Pastor Donk (a former Angola inmate turned preacher) the Gospel was unleashed!
More than 600 inmates gave their lives to Jesus. 47 were baptized: some in wheelchairs, others serving life sentences. One former Muslim accepted Christ and asked to be baptized immediately. His tears fell as he rose from the water.
We ended the trip with a powerful time on death row. Just weeks after an execution, we gathered with the men and sang “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.” But they changed the lyrics to honor their brother: "Our brother Jesse has followed Jesus… no turning back."
This was more than a revival, it was a resurrection. Chains broke. Eternities shifted. Jesus is moving behind prison walls!
Will you help us bring the Gospel to more prisons?
For many inmates, this may be their only chance to hear about Jesus, and you can make that possible!

We reunited kids with their incarcerated parents and gave them so many surprises...
And it was the first outreach event ever in New York State Prison!
There has never been a greater urgency to reach men and women behind bars. The cycle of generational incarceration is massive, but together we get to do something about it. Whether you choose to give once or monthly, know that your donation is not only helping here on earth, but is changing eternities forever.
