“My name is Burton. I saw your video on Pando asking for letters and I had to write. The Lord has been my Light through my dark nights. Sometimes I don’t know how to thank Him enough. But I’m so grateful, words can’t explain. Jesus Christ has been my Lord and Savior for as long as I can remember, going back as far as 1997. My aunt Caroline used to have my cousin (her son) and I say the Lords prayer at night before bed. To this day, that moment stays with me, because she was preparing us for life— for times when there was no one to comfort us, we could call on the Lord and he would be our Rock. So, years and years of him saying: “Burton, I’m here, I’m knocking, just let me in.” But yet no answer… He still didn’t forsake me. He was patient with me. He was attentive to me. Thank you for listening to me. Upon my release, I want to talk to others who have been struggling, whether it is as a motivational speaker, a pastor, or just as someone who can get others to see that God is worth following.”

I agree as a volunteer that I will not abuse my time inside the prisons and will use it to carry out the God Behind Bars, Inc. transformational strategy. I hereby fully understand that if I do abuse my time inside the prison, I may be subject to lose my access and volunteer rights inside the prison. I hereby fully understand that God Behind Bars, Inc. or any employee of God Behind Bars, Inc. is not responsible if anything may happen personally to me or my belongings that I choose to bring into the prison. I (will) fully understand all the rules of the prison and know it is my responsibility to follow these rules to the fullest extent. I hereby give my permission to God Behind Bars, Inc. and any prison to run a full background check on me. I further acknowledge that the area that I am applying to volunteer in may have inherent risks and dangers. I agree to comply with the policies and procedures including anti-drug and anti-alcohol usage, dress code, confidentiality policy or other policies in force.
