We worshipped in a federal women's prison and God showed up!

Before we baptized one woman, we asked her a simple question: "Why do you want to be baptized?" With tears in her eyes, she didn't answer with words. She started to sing.

A couple weeks ago, we had the privilege of visiting the women at FMC Carswell in Fort Worth, TX, a federal women's prison, and what happened inside those walls is hard to put into words.

Over 60 women were baptized. Some were bound to wheelchairs. When they couldn't get to the water, we baptized them with water bottles because nothing was going to keep them from surrendering their lives to Jesus. But there's one moment we haven't been able to stop thinking about…

Before we baptized one woman, we asked her a simple question: "Why do you want to be baptized?" With tears in her eyes, she didn't answer with words. She started to sing. "I sought the Lord, and He heard, and He answered. I sought the Lord, and He heard, and He answered. That’s why I trust Him, that’s why I trust Him!”

And the atmosphere of the room began to shift. We handed her the mic, and she led the entire prison in worship. Hands went up. Tears poured down. Women who had carried shame for years fell to their knees as it broke off of them. The presence of God completely took over that prison!

That's the thing we want you to hear today: inside those walls, God is writing stories that are far from finished. And you're part of every one of them. Every baptism, every song, every chain that fell, it happened because people like you believe these women are worth showing up for.To God be the glory!
