We didn't have this event on the calendar. At the last minute, God opened the door for God Behind Bars to hold our first-ever revival inside a Georgia prison: Phillips State Prison.
We said yes. We didn't know what to expect.
About 250 incarcerated men packed into the room. If you've ever been inside a prison, you know the posture: arms crossed, eyes guarded, careful not to look soft. Many of these men have spent years learning that letting your guard down gets you hurt.
So we did what we came to do. We worshipped. We shared the gospel. And we watched God work.
It didn't happen all at once. Slowly, you could see it. A head bowed here. A hand lifted there. Hearts that had been locked down for years began to soften toward Him. By the end of the night, grown men were weeping on their knees, crying out to Jesus.
When the invitation was given, 83 men gave their lives to Jesus.
Eighty-three men who walked in carrying shame, regret, and years of hard choices walked out with a new name and a new future. The world may define them by their worst day. God defines them as His.
What came next caught all of us off guard. 71 men spontaneously asked to be baptized.

No one prompted it. It wasn't on the schedule. These men simply wanted to go public with their faith, right there, in front of the men they live alongside every day. In a place where reputation is everything, that is no small step. It's a declaration: I'm not who I was.
What started as a last-minute opportunity turned into a night we'll never forget. And we don't believe it's a one-time moment. God is moving behind prison walls, and we believe this is only the beginning of what He's doing in Georgia.
We're deeply grateful to the Georgia Department of Corrections for opening the door and partnering with us to make this event possible.
Was this the biggest prison worship event ever... (so far?)
There has never been a greater urgency to reach men and women behind bars. The cycle of generational incarceration is massive, but together we get to do something about it. Whether you choose to give once or monthly, know that your donation is not only helping here on earth, but is changing eternities forever.
